Job Description:

  • Having well qualitative and quantitates skills of controlling, the incumbent should set client service standards, assess WFP requirements/ principles and ensure that these are met

  • Specify quality requirements of monitoring toolkits with WFP Area offices

  • Control the sites either physically or through emails, phone communications and other ways

  • Undertake regular field trips to ensure timely inspection of monitoring activities and quality control of the services provided to client

  • Investigate and set standards for quality control of the monitoring activities

  • Ensure that the monitoring process comply with standards at both WFP and IDS level

  • Act as a facilitator for change and improvement in performance in order to maximize quality of services provided to client

  • Represent IDS at the provincial level coordination meetings called by line department, PDMC and NGO/INGO if required

  • Review and analyze daily, weekly and monthly narrative reports with the Project Manager to identify the causes of potential bottlenecks in project implementation and to enhance quality of reporting

  • Record, analyze and distribute statistical information when and if required

  • Keep record of all project related documentations/ files from time to time as required.

  • Write technical/ management reports and client’s narrative reports

  • Undertake monitoring missions and food security assessments if required

  • Perform other related activities as required and requested​

Job Requirements:


  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Social Science, Economics, Agriculture or any other related fields.


  • At least three years of progressively experience in Monitoring & Evaluation, Research/ Survey, Reporting or relevant fields

  • Language proficiency in both oral and written of English language and national languages (Dari or Pashto) is required

  • Ability to prepare clear and concise narrative report in English Language required

  • Ability to travel to the provinces.

  • Computer knowledge mainly word processing and Excel Spreadsheet is required

  • Good understanding of and ability to formulate activities at the community level is required

  • Ability to take direction and comfort working both independently and within a team setting and lead the team

  • Awareness of gender issues and minimum knowledge of gender mainstreaming techniques.

  • Ability to communicate both verbal and written in English language and national languages (Dari and Pashto).

  • Working with WFP projects is preferable
